An improved interface is soon to be made available for persons who certify their effort on the web.  Effort Certification Reporting (ECR) is being moved to the My IRIS Web portal and will now be available with other Employee Self-Service (ESS) options such as displaying pay statements.  The look and feel of the new ECR screens are consistent with the look and feel of the other ESS functions and have simpler, more intuitive navigation.  Even though the new screens offer an improved interface, the functionality covered with the new screens remains the same as the previous site.

The interface that departmental administrative staff members use directly in IRIS to enter effort certification for their employees will remain unchanged.

Persons with a distribution on a sponsored project will continue to receive a monthly e-mail, and the e-mail will provide a link directly to the new ECR screens.  Persons that do not have a distribution to a sponsored project but do expend effort on a project will not receive an e-mail, but should use this same interface to enter their effort.

More information will be forthcoming to persons who are required to certify effort, but if you could also inform your research staff members, that should make the transition easier for them.

When navigating to the ESS ECR pages through My IRIS Web, the menu will appear as shown below.  The new ECR option is identified by the purple box.  Click on the Quick Link to go directly to certify.
